New Viking Fire Protection Training and Learning Programs in 2023

2022 was a banner year for Viking learning programs. We hosted over 60 learning events and customer and client visits, welcoming more than 700 guests and participants in the Viking Learning Center in Caledonia, MI. Attendance has greatly increased as more and more people sought to engage in face-to-face hands-on learning programs, which ranged from 3-day open registration seminars to specifically tailored learning programs for customers and clients.

In addition to in-person events, the Viking Customer Learning Portal grew by over 1,200 unique users in 2022 as we continued to add new content and develop tailored programs for our customers seeking to learn online.

2023 will be a year of many continued changes and innovations to our learning programs, including streamlining our flagship “Viking Sprinklers, Systems and Solutions” program from its current 3-day format to a 2-day format. While it will still include foundational information on our water-based systems, this new shortened program curriculum will place a greater focus on the “solutions” our products bring to fire protection.

New to the program lineup in 2023 will be a 2-day program called “Viking Foam Systems”. This seminar will explore the operation and components of fixed foam solution fire protection systems. Topics covered will include an introduction to foam, concentrates and concentrate updates, storage tanks and proportioning components, discharge devices, inspection, testing and maintenance, transitioning existing low expansion foam systems and so much more.

Additionally, the popular “Viking Special Hazards Systems” seminar will be focusing on the new Oxeo extinguishing system. Topics covered in this added day will include system overviews and design samples and much more.

In response to customer feedback, we will also explore the expansion of the Virtual Viking platform to include a new interactive virtual reality program on the inspection, testing and maintenance of a fire sprinkler system. Utilizing the requirements outlined in NFPA 25 and detailed in the Viking tech data, the Virtual Viking ITM platform will provide users with a brand new immersive experience.

At Viking we realize that our customers and clients have varying needs for training. These varying needs require flexibility in the design and delivery of learning programs.

Fortunately, our team of technical experts are adept at tailoring a unique learning program that fits specific needs, whether it be a blend of online learning and in-class content or content specific to a state licensing requirement. We even focus programs based on the skill set or job functions of the attendees, such as customized training for ITM technicians, sales teams, design technicians, building owners and managers, insurance specialists and more!

We hope you can train with us this year — don’t miss out on our awesome programs!
