Former Viking Executives Inducted into Fire Sprinkler Hall of Fame

Viking is proud to share that two former executives, Kevin Ortyl and Tom Deegan, have been inducted into the National Fire Sprinkler Association's Fire Sprinkler Hall of Fame. This honor is reserved for individuals who have made significant contributions to the fire sprinkler industry, and both Kevin and Tom are truly deserving of this recognition.

“We are incredibly proud of Kevin and Tom and their induction into the Sprinkler Hall of Fame,” said James Golinveaux, President & CEO of Viking Group, Inc. “Their contributions to our company and the fire protection industry as a whole are immeasurable, and we are grateful for their many years of service and leadership.”

Kevin Ortyl had an impressive career at Viking, starting as Director of Marketing for Supply Network in 1990, then taking on increasingly senior roles to become Viking Group, Inc.’s CEO in 2007 and Chairman in 2015. Throughout his tenure, Kevin played a pivotal role in driving Viking's growth and success in the fire protection industry. With his strategic business operations and leadership, Kevin made a lasting impact on both the Viking organization and the industry as a whole. He retired in 2017 and currently resides in St. Louis, Missouri with his wife Patti.

Tom Deegan started in the sprinkler trade as a factory salesperson for Central Sprinkler, then moved on to contracting in the Kansas City area, before joining the Viking Corporation. He held a variety of roles during his more than 25 years at Viking including marketing, R&D, quality, and business development. As part of Viking’s Global Product Development team, his expertise and guidance helped the company grow into a worldwide leader in fire protection. Tom retired as Vice President – Market Development in 2017.
